Dr. María Luisa Castejón Martínez was graduated in Pharmacy from the University of Seville in 2014. Her PhD studies was focused on the role of oleuropein and its derivatives in in vivo and in vitro models of rheumatic diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus. In addition, she carried out an international research stay at the Institute of Developmental Science, General Hospital of Southampton, University of Southampton (United Kingdom), focused on epigenetic pyrosequencing studies. She got her PhD in Pharmacy with International Mention at the University of Seville in February 2020. Currently, she is further investigating on the role of oleuropein in the epigenetic modulation in these inflammatory pathologies.
