Dra. Marina Sánchez-Hidalgo graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy and currently works as a Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology Department at the University of Seville (Spain). She was awarded her PhD with European Mention in 2008, following studies related to melatonin effects during aging and hematologic malignancies. She carried out her postdoctoral research at Cancer Sciences Division of the University of Southampton (UK), where she was the recipient of José Castillejo fellowship, investigating molecular mechanisms controlling proliferation and survival in malignant lymphocytes. She returned to the University of Seville in 2009 studying the anti-inflammatory and immune-modulatory properties of dietary compounds in autoimmune diseases.
