The Aracena Natural Park and Aroche Peaks are located in the northern area of the province. Because of its soft climate and its green cork oak, holm oak and chestnut tree forests, this region has attracted some historical civilizations (Celtics, Arabians, etc.) and attracts nowadays tourists and vacationers. Aracena Mountains are also famous because of the breeding of the "Iberian pig", from which the "pata negra" ham is made. The Cave of Wonders, a beautiful stalactite cave with a subterranean lake, deserves special attention.
