Location

The site of the Meeting is the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales (Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineering—ETSII for short) of the University of Seville, located on the Isla de la Cartuja (Cartuja Island), northwest of downtown Sevilla (click here to see the ETSII location map), about one kilometer from the Puente de la Barqueta (Barqueta bridge). The ETSII building is a huge red–wine coloured building that faces four different streets, its official address being

Camino de los Descubrimientos s/n.
Isla de la Cartuja, 41092 Sevill
a.

Access

By air (See also the  Local Info page).
The Seville–San Pablo Airport is 8 kilometers from downtown Sevilla. There is good bus service to the city center (Palos de la Frontera Street) and to the main railway station (Sevilla–Santa Justa). On work days it leaves every 30 min. and every hour at weekends and on holidays. Price: 2.20 Euros. We highly recommend use of the airport bus service to get to the city center.
Taxis are available for about 15–25 Euros depending on which city zone are you headed for. In case you ask for a receipt, please check that the license plate number and number of the taxi are included.
Several car rental agencies service the airport.

By train (See also the  Local Info page).
The main railway station (Sevilla–Santa Justa) is connected directly to the ETSII by the circular bus
C2 (bus C1 for the way back-you can see a general information about the local bus service, and information about the lines C1 and C2). It is also connected to the city center by bus 32.
Taxis are also available.

Driving directions

The ETSII is close to SE–30 circular highway. Once you are driving in the SE–30 look for  the signs leading to the Isla de la Cartuja off ramp (click here to see the ETSII location map).

By bus or on foot

There is an excellent inexpensive bus service (lines C1 and C2) from downtown, and the metropolitan area, to the island; bus stops for these lines are located within walking distance from most of the hotels, and the ETSII building is clearly visible from the bus stops. If your hotel is near the river or the Bas´ýlica de la Macarena (Macarena Church), you may reach the site after a pleasant 20–30 minute walk, crossing the Barqueta bridge (click here to see the location of the ETSII regarding the hotels). If you decide to take a taxi, tell the driver that it is behind the Isla Mágica. There are two gates on the north side of the building, 20 meters from bus stops, and a main entrance on the south side. Escuela Superior de Ingenieros is written on the building on both sides, in clear view.

Site information

The building has six floors. Except for the Special Sessions, which will take place in lecture rooms located on oors P1 and E2, all the events of the meeting —reception, opening and closing ceremonies, plenary lectures, coffee breaks and lunches— will take place on the ground oor PB, where the Congress Secretariat and Information.desks will be located, as well as a stand of the Real Sociedad Matemática Española, publishers stands (see below), computer and software exhibitions, T–shirt and poster shop, a cafeteria and a photocopy shop (click here to see the ETSII location map).

For this occasion the Organizing Committee has reserved 800 seats at the participant’s disposal. Those interested in this event should go into the Cathedral through the Puerta del Príncipe (the entrance on the side of the Alcázar) at 17:15, fifteen minutes before the holy mass starts.
After the holy mass is finished, the Cathedral will remain open exclusively for the participants until 18:55 (to stay you must show your Meeting badge).
